Pirinplast AD has begun the implementation of the project “Cross-border green packaging: Circular innovation for sustainable industrial transformation in the cross-border region” (Crossborder Green-Pack), ref. No BGMK0500192, financed under the Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria – North Macedonia 2021–2027 Programme, co-funded by the European Union. The project is implemented in partnership with Fico-Plast DOO (Strumica, North Macedonia) and has a duration of 18 months. The total budget is EUR 722,110.00, of which EUR 472,495.11 (65.43%) is co-financing from the European Union through IPA III.
The project provides for the delivery of a sealing machine for hollow-profile PP sheets (for Pirinplast AD), an extruder for multilayer films incorporating recycled granulate, and an automatic rewinding machine for the production of stretch film (for Fico-Plast DOO). The two companies will introduce common standard operating procedures and will transfer the buy-back model for reusable packaging from Pirinplast to Fico-Plast.
A supplier selection procedure is forthcoming. The technical specification for the planned delivery is available here: Technical Specification (PDF). The Bulgarian original, authoritative for the supplier selection procedure, is available here: Техническа спецификация (PDF).
